How we work

Methodology

Every project starts with a written scope and protocol and ends with documented results and revision rounds.

Project workflow

How we work

  1. Scoping

Agree the research question, available samples or data, required outputs and project scope.

  2. Protocol

Set out the study protocol or analysis plan before work starts.

  3. Execution

Carry out the agreed laboratory study or data analysis.

  4. Analysis and reporting

Prepare documented results in the agreed format.

  5. Follow-up

Complete revision rounds against the agreed research requirements.

Methods by discipline

Three areas of research

Project methods are set out in the written scope and protocol or analysis plan.

  • Preclinical Studies

Testing candidate treatments in animal models, in cells and by computer simulation.

    • In vivo studies with mice, rats, rabbits and guinea pigs
    • In vitro studies
    • In silico studies
  • Molecular Research

Molecular, biochemical and histological analysis of research samples.

    • PCR and RT-qPCR
    • ELISA and Western blot
    • Sequencing
    • Histopathology and immunohistochemistry
  • Biomedical Data Analysis

Metagenomic, health and omics data analysed through to publication-ready results.

    • Metagenomics
    • Health and clinical data
    • Omics data
    • Evidence synthesis and reports
